DataLab

Improve the competitiveness of companies in the tourism and technology sectors of the collaboration space through the definition, development, and execution of a Strategy based on Big Data

Aim of the project

The main objective of DATALAB is to improve the competitiveness of companies in the tourism and technological sector in the Macaronesian collaboration space by defining, developing and executing a strategy based on Big Data and analyzing data related to tourism trends and behaviors.

The project aims to develop a digital tourism information management platform that promotes the creation, use, and enjoyment of data from the tourism sector, based on the strategy proposal previously developed under the SMARTDEST project. For this, it will identify sources of information to feed a Big Data Platform, articulated with technological solutions, which allow a better knowledge of the profile of visitors including their consumption habits and behavior at the destination. Technological cooperation between different pilots in the MAC space will also be promoted, based on the principle of open innovation, improving the transfer of knowledge and competitiveness of companies in the tourist destinations involved in the consortium (Azores, Madeira, Canarias and Cabo Verde), projecting the international level SMEs in the collaboration space.

The DATALAB Project aims to accompany the European Agenda in the field of digitization in tourism, promoting the transfer of knowledge between the participating regions, accompanying the growth of tourism and providing technological and innovative tools.

DATALAB has a strong impact on establishing networks and partnerships with SCTA.
