Objectivo
The main objectives of this doctoral project are:
- Creating a remote sensing based methodological approach for a multifunctional Land Use and Land Cover mapping in Oceanic Islands
- Evaluating the efficiency of existing and forthcoming (by simulation) remote sensing data for a multifunctional Land Use and Land Cover mapping in Oceanic Islands
- Assessing the efficiency of different remote sensing data processing techniques and approaches for a multifunctional Land Use and Land Cover mapping in Oceanic Islands
- Developing and proposing a multi-sensor approach for a multifunctional Land Use and Land Cover mapping in Oceanic Islands
- Assessing the efficiency of remote sensing change detection techniques and identifying most relevant LULC changes in Azores Islands from 2000 to 2010
- Assessing the applicability of LULC models to Oceanic Islands by using the Azores Islands as case-study.
