Network of regional maritime clusters for the smart specialization of the blue economy
Aim of the project
The SmartBlue project aims to increase marine-maritime companies’ competitiveness in the MAC cooperation area, by creating a network of suprarregional clusters and maritime agents that promote innovation and internationalization processes and taking advantage of the synergies, capabilities, and resources.
Impact on the Azores Region
The SMART BLUE project is a structuring project whose actions are planned so that its results and impact do not end in its time and scope of action, with the following multiplier effects expected: New business opportunities and services; Complementarity of value chains in participating regions; Increased innovative culture in marine-maritime companies; Systematization of the experimental development and innovation processes of companies; Tractor effect (indirect and induced) in other non-marine or transverse activities; Funding and international investment; Knowledge and technology transfer.
