FRCT showcases the WaveLinks platform’s Innovative Solutions Catalogue at the WAVE 2025 Conference

04 november, 2025

The Regional Fund of Science and Technology (FRCT) is participating in the WAVE 2025 Conference – Weaving Action, Vision & Expertise, an event integrated into the annual meeting of the EurOcean network, which will take place on November 4-5 at the facilities of IFREMER in Brest, France.

WAVE 2025 is launched as a new annual forum dedicated to sharing knowledge, experiences, and collaborative strategies for more sustainable and participatory ocean governance. Under the theme “Connecting Data with Society”, the 2025 edition explores how data collection, management and dissemination can strengthen research, support informed policy-making and promote citizen engagement in ocean protection.

During the conference, FRCT will present the WaveLinks digital platform, developed within the framework of the BlueMissionAA project – Building a Coordination Hub to Support the Mission Implementation in the Atlantic and Arctic Basin. The project is funded by the Horizon Europe programme under the European Union Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”.

The presentation will place particular emphasis on the Catalogue of Solutions and Services, developed by FRCT as a strategic tool for mobilising knowledge and technology. The Catalogue brings together a set of good practices, governance mechanisms, services and innovative solutions with a high potential for replication across different regional, national and international contexts. This tool also promotes stronger links between science, industry, policy-makers and civil society, fostering synergies that support Europe’s blue transition.

FRCT’s participation in WAVE 2025 reinforces the commitment of the Autonomous Region of the Azores to actively contribute to European objectives for marine conservation and restoration, while consolidating the Region’s role as an active partner in the implementation of the EU Mission to Restore Ocean and Waters.

The event is free of charge and is being live-streamed on the EurOcean YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@euroceancentre6215), allowing the general public to follow the presentations and debates aimed at strengthening the connection between science, policy and society in support of a more sustainable future.
