Objectivo
The project aims to improve the monitoring, detection, and modelling of volcanic clouds for hazard management using satellite remote sensing data. It focuses on developing optical and thermal satellite-based approaches for volcanic cloud monitoring, as well as methods for ash retrieval, dispersion, and deposition modelling. Collaborations with the Cascades Volcano Observatory and the Alaska Volcano Observatory will provide expertise in the acquisition and use of satellite and ground-based remote sensing data, enhancing capabilities for accurate and timely volcanic cloud monitoring.
