Objectivo
This project aims to investigate the material legacy of historic upheaval in the Azores through the creation of a site‑specific installation at the Carlos Machado Museum. By engaging with local collections, archives, and material culture, the work seeks to deepen public understanding of how significant historical events have shaped the region.
Champ Turner, a multimedia artist with experience in museums, collections, and archives and a B.A. in Visual Art and International Affairs from Brown University, brings a strong interest in interpreting history through objects and place. Having lived in Rhode Island, home to a substantial Azorean diaspora, he aims to connect the project to the shared heritage linking Portugal, the Azores, and New England.
