Rede Bancos de Ensaios do Atlântico Médio: avaliação das novas tecnologias oceânicas desde o conceito até ao mercado
Aim of the project
The project aims to create a test bench ‘Hub’ for the development and validation of emerging and disruptive ocean technologies in the Macaronesia Region and West Africa.
The BEAM Network aims to strengthen the research and innovation capacities of local agents and companies related to the marine-maritime domain, taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the ocean surrounding the outermost regions (ORs). It also aims to respond to the region’s specific needs, increase its international visibility, generate synergies that favour business cooperation and public-private collaboration, and provide sustainable support to the emerging innovative ecosystem of the ORs.
Impact on the Azores Region
The FRCT’s active participation in this project will focus on developing the area of internationalization and innovation, supporting the implementation of the project in the Azores in cooperation with the Escola do Mar dos Açores (Azoreas Sea School), with a particular focus on pilot projects for autonomous navigation vehicles.
The aim of participating in this project is to promote collaboration and interaction between the different public and private players in the field of cooperation and technological development using criteria of economic, environmental and social sustainability.
The FRCT will also participate in evaluating the results, defining the business model and developing the communication strategy for the Central Atlantic Test Bench Network
