COST – European Cooperation in Science and Technology
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding organisation for research and innovation networks, helping to connect research initiatives across Europe and beyond, and enable researchers and innovators to grow their ideas in any science and technology field by sharing them with their peers. In a nutshell, COST Action:
- is an interdisciplinary research network that brings researchers and innovators together to investigate a topic of their choice for 4 years.
- is typically made up of researchers from academia, SMEs, public institutions, and other relevant organizations or interested parties.
- the funding receives covers the expenses of networking activities rather than research, and as such is used to organise and fund events, short-term scientific missions, training schools, communication activities, and virtual networking tools.
In a perspective of cooperation and collaboration between the regional research, development and innovation ecosystem and this European funding instrument, the FRCT intends to affirm itself as a Regional Contact Point, also encompassing the entire quadruple helix, namely, civil society, business, university and government, and will allow to affirm the Autonomous Region of the Azores as a territory with excellent scientific and technological capabilities, as well as a catalyst for technical and specialized human capital in the strategic development areas defined in S3.

The Open Call 2023 is now open. The next collection date will be 25 October 2023 at 12.00 (noon) CEST.
The application process is carried out on the COST platform itself. Considering the transversality, actions, criteria and measures of COST program, should be made a careful reading and analysis of the call and other documents available HERE.
