Objectivo

Objetives of this projects are:

1.To screen both conventional and new emerging risk factors of AT such as lipoprotein (a) – Lp(a), small dense low density lipoprotein (sd-LDL), oxidized LDL (ox-LDL), lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) and high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in the urban populations of Ponta Delgada (Azores) and Lisbon;
2.To compare these 2 populations with those previously studied and also with the Framingham offspring study;
3.To improve prevention guidelines and risk stratification of early stage biomarkers of AT in the study populations.
