Objectivo

This project was designed to bring science and technology together towards the implementation of affordable sampling tools and routines to fill in major knowledge gaps regarding deep-sea biodiversity, distribution and biogeographic patterns of Vulnerable Marine Ecosystems (VMEs) and key species. Ultimately, it should provide the tools and data to support the implementation of EU MFSD, to assess Good Environmental Status and improve the ecosystem approach and adaptive management frameworks, ultimately facilitating the balance between three pillars of blue growth in the Azores, sustainable fisheries, scientific research and eco-tourism.
