André Filipe Andrade Amaral

Member of the Executive Board of Regional Fund of Science and Technology

André Filipe Andrade Amaral, a native of Ponta Delgada, served as a Military Police Officer in the Portuguese Army between 2003 and 2010, where he was formally commended for his outstanding sense of responsibility and duty.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of the Azores (2010) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Banking and Insurance Management from ISCAC – Coimbra Institute of Accounting and Administration (2011).

In 2012, he joined the Regional Government of the Azores as a Senior Officer, where he gained extensive experience in managing and assessing investment support instruments. His responsibilities included evaluating applications submitted under incentive schemes and working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the market.

He subsequently served in the Directorate for Development and Investment Attraction of the Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, actively contributing to promoting regional economic development and attracting new investment to the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

Since May 2026, he has been a Member of the Executive Board of the Regional Fund for Science and Technology (FRCT).
