Aim of the Project:

SmartDest main objective is to promote the cooperation between the Azores, Cape Verde and the Canary Islands to make these territories Smart Destinations.  It aims to develop activities that will help improve the public-private cooperation, the development of the connections and synergies between companies and research institutions for the development of Smart Destinations through the creation of a plan for each touristic destinations; improve the “intelligence” of the collaboration space with the implementation of solutions of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT); and promote business initiatives that aims the development of technological solutions.


FRCT Involvement:
The FRCT enters as a partner in this project within the framework of the Regional Digital Agenda in order to contribute to the identification of technologies that allows the region to become a true “Smart Island” and to contribute in making the regional technology companies more competitive.
