Aim of the Project:

The SmartBlueF aims to consolidate this transnational alliance of innovation support agents, as a tool to promote an innovative culture and internationalization, through the use of synergies, capacities and shared resources in the area of MAC cooperation.

FRCT Involvement:
Within the scope of this project, the FRCT is responsible for mapping the innovation agents internationalization of the blue economy in the MAC area of cooperation, trough the characterization study of Macaronesian agents to support innovation and internationalization.
FRCT is also responsible to support the “barriers to innovation” workshops by thematic areas, support the knowledge transfer between research centers and companies in the blue economy, promote European funding opportunities and tools for R&D (proposals from EMFF, H2020, EASME ...) and support and keep with all the activities developed by this project.

Impact on the Azores Region:
The SmartblueF project is a structuring project whose actions are planned so that its results and impact do not end in its time and scope, with the following multiplier effects expected: New business opportunities and services; Complementarity of value chains in participating regions; Tractor effect (indirect and induced) in other non-marine or transverse activities; Funding and international investment; Knowledge and technology transfer.
